2. GUADELOUPE MASSACRE & LIBERATION 1802 & MAY 1967
People of Guadeloupe resisted French colonial aggression in 1802 when Napoleon Bonaparte sent military force to crash the revolutionary process which also started in Haiti in 1791. His objective was to reestablish slavery, which was abolished by the people themselves in 1793 just
as in Haiti. Again in May 1967, French coercive forces massacred a significant number of citizen at strike on that Caribbean island. We must remember these events since we have a responsibility
to future generations.

Las fuerzas coercivas
coloniales francesas bajo el comando de Napoleon Bonaparte confrontaron a las
masas rebeldes de Guadalupe en mayo 1802 que vinieron a aplastar el proceso
revolucionario andando desde 1791 como en Haiti. Ambos paises abolieron la
esclavitude en 1793 por cuenta popular propia. Napoleon restablecio la
esclavitud en Guadalupe en 1802. En mayo de 1967 las fuerzas coloniales
francesas de nueva fueron responsables de una masacre severa con el objetivo de
aplastar las luchas de obreros y el pueblo en huelga. No podemos olvidar estos
eventos porque tenemos una responsabilidad con futuras generaciones
